Pick the right export format

You know which file the customer, the estimate and the back-office system are to have, and where the watermark ends up.

Quantities and price4 min8 steps
  1. 1

    Open the export menu

Click Export in the toolbar. The menu is called Export take-off and has four rows.

Worth knowing. If the quantity list is empty the rows are locked and the menu says you need to draw or measure something first.

  2. 2

Take CSV for Excel when you are going to carry on calculating

CSV for Excel gives a semicolon-separated file with a decimal comma that opens straight off in Swedish Excel. It holds runs, objects, areas, your own counts and reducers.

  3. 3

Take PDF report when somebody is going to read it

The PDF report is the take-off as a document: project name, date, waste allowance and the tables, with your logo if you have put one up. It is the one you email or print.

  4. 4

Take XML file when another system is going to read it

The XML file has the same content as the CSV, but as a tree with the units written out and a full stop as the decimal mark. It is made for importing into estimating and back-office systems.

Worth knowing. XML needs a paid plan. On Gratis the row is locked and marked Pro.

  5. 5

Take Create quote when it is to turn into money

Create quote opens the dialogue where the quantities are linked to your price list. From there you export with Export CSV, Export PDF and, on a paid plan, Export XML.

  6. 6

Count on the watermark on Gratis

On Gratis every PDF page gets a stamp, and the CSV files an extra row at the top and at the bottom saying the file was made with the free version of Mängda. XML cannot be exported at all.

Worth knowing. Clean files without a stamp come with Pro, Team and Enterprise.

  7. 7

    Recognise the file name

The files are called for instance mangdforteckning-villa-solsidan-2026-08-09.csv: type, project name and today's date. If the project has no name it says mangdning in the middle.

  8. 8

Export before the free period runs out

After 30 days a free account becomes read-only. Everything you have saved is still there and can be read, but no new exports can be made until you upgrade.
